PolicyLab Welcomes Dr. Meredith Matone as New Director
PolicyLab would like to welcome our new director, Dr. Meredith Matone! Dr. Matone has been a member of PolicyLab for 13 years, starting as a research coordinator and extensively growing her research portfolio composed of maternal-child health projects. Her experience, strong leadership skills, and dedication to research led her to take on the role of scientific director in 2019, through which she developed and oversaw PolicyLab’s center-wide research strategy, infrastructure, and programmatic supports for faculty and research teams.
As director, Dr. Matone is responsible for a Center of Emphasis within Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Research Institute that includes 35 faculty and instructors and over 85 professionals conducting multidisciplinary and mixed-methods research in our health system and community, as well as teams of policy and communications professionals who help translate and disseminate PolicyLab’s work. As she begins her tenure as director, she is excited about PolicyLab’s focus on community-engaged research and the opportunity to continue collaborating with the center’s faculty and staff to grow PolicyLab’s impact among families in Philadelphia and beyond.
